Abstract:

Album of snapshots documenting activities and associates of Ethel Scott, her husband William Thomas Alexander "Lex" Scott, and developers John A. Otto and Fred L. Wright, all of whom were involved developing the Blue Eagle Gold & Silver Mines enterprise in the desert mountains San Bernardino County during the Great Depression. Views depict mine exteriors and the surrounding landscapes and the various individuals associated with the mine. A large portion of the album is devoted to the social life of Ethel, depicting leisure and domestic scenes with family and friends. Includes many views taken throughout California (Mojave Desert, Seal Beach, Los Angeles, Catalina Island, Riverside, Joshua Tree, Long Beach, etc.). Automobile travel to other regions of the United States in also documented. Numerous individuals are depicted, most identified by full name in Ethel's descriptive captions.
